Resources for clubs
As a recognized sports federation, Ski de fond Québec receives support from the Ministry of Education and the National Sports Institute of Québec (INS) to promote the development of athletes, coaches, clubs and race circuits in the province.
Programs
Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec (MÉQ)
The Program to Support the Development of Excellence (PSDE), including :
- Implementation of the athlete development model
- National or international competitions
- Canadian championships
- Junior and U23 world championships and selections
- Training camps
- Coach development
- Development of officials
- Specific support for the recruitment of coaches
The prioritization of clubs makes it possible to evaluate their performance, rank them and determine the level of subsidies granted to eligible clubs (between $3,500 and $25,000). The subsidies are evaluated each year and are determined according to the budget envelope received from the MÉQ.
The Sports Events Support Program (PSES), including :
- Public events
- Provincial and national events
- International events
Institut national du sport du Québec (INS)
- For athletes, the medical and scientific services programs support athletes identified as Excellence, Élite and Relève.
- For coaches receiving financial support through the Équipe Québec program, the mentoring program aims to share knowledge on best practices and approaches and to improve general knowledge.
- For single-sport centers, this program supports cohesion and collaborative work between our federation and the Pierre-Harvey National Training Center (CNEPH).
Cross-country Skiing Fund
Ski de fond Québec offers affiliated clubs and organizations assistance – le Fonds pour le ski de fond – of up to $7,500 to support special projects aimed at promoting cross-country skiing.
Development of Paranordic Skiing
Ski de fond Québec receives support for the development of athletes and the recreational practice of adapted cross-country skiing from several organizations:
- Excellence Development Support Program (PSDE) of the Ministry of Education (see above)
- The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) Paralympic Sport Development Fund
- Nordiq Canada’s subsidy for persons with a disability
- Au-delà des limites program from Parasport Québec
